Lokta Gift Wrap — Indigo Study No.01

This is not gift wrap you'll find in a supermarket.

Each sheet in this pack is handmade in Nepal by Fair Trade certified artisans, using a papermaking tradition that has existed in the Himalayan foothills since the 12th century. The material — lokta paper — is made from the inner bark of the wild Daphne shrub. No trees are felled. No plastic is used. The deep indigo colour comes from natural vegetable dyes, and every sheet is screen printed by hand in Kathmandu.

Because every step of the process is done by hand, no two sheets are identical. The slight variations in texture, depth of colour, and print placement are not imperfections. They are the point.
